Prior to
my having met Debi Laszewski, for many years I had what
I considered “a little pipe dream” of wanting to enter a
figure competition. In pursuit of my quest, I had worked
with other trainers in the past, applied their
techniques and their knowledge; all of which simply
resulted in a plethora of confusion and frustration both
mentally and physically. I simply wasn’t getting the
results I was hoping for. It wasn’t until I began
training with Debi that my body virtually developed
right before my very eyes. As I put my trust completely
in her hands, listened, and applied her techniques, my
body became a walking advertisement of her expertise.
She not only sculpted my body into a beautiful physique,
but more importantly and unexpectedly, she helped me
learn to believe in myself. Because she puts so much of
her heart and soul into her work and into her clients,
it only made me want to work that much harder. I’ve
never had anyone so dedicated to helping me realize and
self actualize a dream.
Having
been through an unhappy marriage and divorce, I came to
Debi feeling weak and discouraged both emotionally and
physically. But as I put the time and dedication in, her
guidance helped me grow mentally, physically, and
spiritually, all of which have empowered me on so many
levels. I am now a woman who can look in the mirror and
love the person looking back at me, both inside and out.
Debi has been an amazing inspiration with such
remarkable devotion not only to me, but to this sport as
well. It’s this quality that not only makes her rare,
but simultaneously becomes contagious. Her drive to
excel and push
her own
self to new limits has made me strive to dig even deeper
within myself. I have learned a lot about myself through
this process. It has been an incredible growth
opportunity for me. Winning my first competition is
pretty amazing but just feels like icing on the cake
compared to how much I feel I’ve changed for the better
on the inside. That’s priceless.
At the
tender age of 40, I entered my first competition only 10
months after I started working with Debi. I entered the
Sunshine Classic on March 10th, 2007, which
is a Level 5 show. I won 1st place in the 30
and up category, and I took 2nd place in my
class. These wins qualified me for a National Level
competition. Now, that’s amazing! Debi Laszewski turned
my “little pipe dream” into a reality. Now, I call
myself a figure competitor with another “little pipe
dream” of turning Pro. With Debi as my trainer, I
believe I will achieve!!!
My life
has completely turned around. I’m happier now than I’ve
ever been. And I believe bodybuilding has been the
channel that has gotten me here.
I have
such a tremendous amount of respect for Debi because she
is not only an incredible trainer, but she is my mentor.
And on top of all that I have the great fortune of
calling her my friend. My gratitude for her is
magnanimous. Thank you so much Debi, I couldn’t have
done this without you! Thank you.
